Secretary General of Economic Cities Authority

 

Mohanud Helal is the Secretary General of the Economic Cites Authority (ECA). He was appointed to the position on the 4th of September, 2010, by Royal Decree of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to be in charge of newly formed Authority. He is also the Deputy Governor of the Economic Cities in the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority .His Journey with  SAGIA started in 2008 as Vice President of Operations to lead the Economic Cities SMART SERVICE CENTER operations based on a world-class customer service mindset. This included managing services and strategy, the issuance of investor licenses, deeds and building permits, monitoring construction compliance to the master plans, municipal codes, coordinating commercial activity as per granted licenses or permits, and finally, he spearheaded the efforts on the  60 24 7 concept to provide all services to both investor and residents of the economic cities in no longer than sixty minutes throughout the any hour of the  year.
 
Helal obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and later a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems from the George Washington University. While in Washington D.C. he started his professional career in the Saudi Arabian Embassy as International Information Officer handling special assignments on Media relations for the Ambassador’s Office and Public relations delegation member for the International Diplomatic Circle, responsible for weekly communication between the Saudi Attachés.

Mohanud was the Business Development Manager in Fakieh Business Establishment where he managed the expansion analysis and developed the franchise relations guidelines for the fast-food chain now known as Al-Tazaj. He also served at the establishment’s Research & Development Center as a member of the Natural resources committee coordinating the purchasing and international sourcing for the main processing plant.

In the year 2000 Mr. Helal joined Unilever to undertake assignments in different categories, divisions and countries in both head office and field jobs. In Unilever, Mohanud later moved to initiating and setting up a customer marketing function in which he received regional recognition and was part of the regional core customer marketing team for Asia & Africa. His dedication and commitment to business growth gave him a cornerstone status in Unilever’s strategic business growth, and he was designated as the Customer Marketing & Categories Operation Director.
